I suck at this blog thing

don't I? I can't believe I put off posting for almost a month, lol! I'm so frustrated, by the time I get home I can't imagine coming and posting anything nice. At least there are only 3 more days with this group and they are in the past. I'm glad every year isn't like this. Ugh.

I managed to scrap a bit yesterday at Jill's. I worked on two pages of my Christine book from Reflections and neither one is even finished. It's such slow going working on her projects but they are so beautiful when they are actually completed. I'll keep plugging away I suppose.

Talk about the queen of procrastination. I still haven't started on my report cards and they are due Wednesday to go home with the kids. Hmm, I guess tomorrow will be a great day to start. Diana and I have been scheduling CELDT so there's no time for the end of the year stuff I'm actually responsible for.

Off with me, probably for another month, ha!

Fat drag

Well, there's some speculation about that pen. Did I journal with it? Treasure it? Frame it? I might as well admit now that I threw it away because I was so disgusted with my 'heartfelt' gift. It probably didn't even write 'cause that's the kind of crap they gift us with. When I completed ten years of service I got a metal bookmark with the PUSD logo on it. Dunno where that's at. Probably in a book I started reading and didn't finish. At least I'll be able to pick up where I left off when I find that book!

Only 21 more days to go.
A 5 day week
A 3 day week
Two 5 day weeks
A 3 day week
I'm not counting or anything, ;)

checking in

Yeah~bad, bad blogger. Not much to report so why bother?

School is school. Testing is here. I'm the only one in the room that 'gives'. Too bad, they'll have two English classes in middle school, not me. I guess we'll be program improvement year 10 before long. Only 25 days or so left. Hopefully I can maintain until then.

Reflections was amazing! I have so many things to finish. I decided to work on Jamie's project first. It's all glued together, just needs journaling and it's done.

Got my hair 'did' today.

Going to scrap on Saturday if at all possible.

I don't understand how I can go to sleep early and wake up as if I never slept. I think just the thought of work is exhausting me nowadays.

Got a pen for Teacher Appreciation Day. Whoop! How did I ever hold out until I got this pen?

Out!

I actually scrapped on Friday night. I managed to complete a whole 2 layouts, lol! I used my new LabelTulip kit for April.

I took a super cute picture of Katrina on Saturday. Check it:

She's so cooperative. I wish the 'phews could be so easy to photograph!

School is heading down the slope. Only 35 more class days. At least testing will keep Mrs. Q from my room for a while. That woman is driving me insane. She seriously should come with a Xanax scrip. Ugh.

Getting ready for Reflections . I've got all my supplies ready to go, I'm struggling in the picture department as always. If worse comes to worse, I'm cutting cardstock down and using it as place holders. I guess it's not that bad, I have the picture ready for Jamie's project, 5x7s for Shannon's class and one of the ones for Mara-May's class. I'm still debating on the pix to use for Christine's class. Her book is gorgeous, I'm not sure I have pictures to do it justice. I'm thinking there are some Arizona pix somewhere.

Well, I've got to scoot. Off to post my creations in the LT gallery.

Saturday, April 18, 2009

Here are two of the layouts I posted around the web. The first is a lift of Dina Wakley's layout from the LT gallery, the second was a Jamie Waters' lift from Peas. Yep, I'm a lifter ;)

On Fire

I have gotten rid of the lazies this afternoon. I posted layouts in the LabelTulip gallery, in the StudioCalico gallery and in the KennerRoad group. I can actually resize layouts, :)

I even posted my banner, likey?

Hmm, now to tackle the bag full of papers to grade...ugh. Only 41 more days to go and the year is over. I can't believe we were told to 'work harder' or go to another school yesterday. Hmm. Did the same message get relayed to the students?

The Spring Break Blues

Egads, it's almost over and I have nothing to show for it :( No organized scrapbook supplies, clothes not hanging neatly in the closet, papers not graded and recorded. Nothing, I've got nothing.

I have managed to spend a whole day in my pajamas (last Saturday), do my taxes (ugh), scrapbook all day yesterday at the Oasis, travel to downtown Los Angeles for lunch at Clifton's and catch up a bit on my soaps (nearing the end of January's episodes, lol). Tomorrow I have more scrappage on the horizon, plus grading papers on Saturday. Easter is Sunday and then hitting the bricks Monday for work. Ugh, where did my time go?

Tuesday, March 31, 2009

so it's the last day of the month

and I'm barely coming back to post, lol! March just flew by...

I'm so getting LifeonMars when it comes out in September. I really enjoyed this show. That's probably why it's getting yanked, darnit!

I caught up on printing pix for my 365 today. I am officially behind 3 days in journaling. Not bad considering I'm the queen of procrastination.

I finished all of my conferences today. I can't believe everyone managed to make an appearance.

Three more days and I'm officially on break :)

Crop outcome

I actually managed to scrap a few pages yesterday. These were all completed using the labeltulip kit from February. I am officially in love with those darn butterflies and the flower stamp.

I managed to get a few things done yesterday at the Oasis crop. I made these cards using the MM Chloe's Closet goodies that I scored from Michaels a while back. I was inspired by some cards I saw on the MakingMemories blog. I didn't have the MM rub-ons so I used some SU! stamps instead and left others blank for those occasions that I'm in a jam and need a quick card. I'll just stamp a greeting and be done :)

I also managed to get all of the pictures in the 365 album up to the 27th of February and journaled through January. I'm hoping to get the journaling done for February so that I can be just a week behind (March 1-6). Who would have that that the 365 would be so daily? :)

I'm off to finish my March newsletter that they make me do (but no one reads, lol!)

The jury duty outcome

Well, jury duty ended. I managed to get my name picked and had a brief brush with juror seat #6. The defense attorney didn't like my smug, confident self and gave me a size 9 (or 10) right out the door. Eh, who needs to sit and listen to drivel all day for 3 more days? I guess I have to go back to work now.

Now to get ready for the CHA crop at Oasis on Saturday. Pix, supplies and snacks need to be gathered and organized. I do NOT want to take everything that I own, lol! Let's see how much I actually get done between now and Friday night.

Let's catch up, shall we?

Since we last posted, our heroine made note of the following:

The bday came and went
Spent the night of the 6th scrapping with the girlies, good time!
Squandered two Mondays off since it rained on both of them :(
Did projects for two SU! parties and got through the parties this past weekend
Went to the wonderful courthouse in Rancho for Jury Duty today, have to go back tomorrow. Sadly, jury duty is more appealing than work and that's just not right!
Looking forward to http://reflectionsevent2009.com
Uploading December pix to Smug. How did I get behind?

February already!

Well, so much for being a better blogger in the oh-nine.

In my defense, I went to CHA last weekend with Cathy and Aimee and it took all week to recover.

I did make ChocolateChews with Jake on Thursday.

I bought a SLICE on Wednesday since I came home early to bake the cookies and he wasn't here. I had to fill the afternoon somehow, lol!

I am uploading pix from CHA as I type so hopefully there will be some eye-candy to share tomorrow because I took over 600 pix and it's barely loading number 350 right now.

Today

I called home to hear Jake tell me to go to the market and buy walnuts so we could bake something. I dutifully went to the market, bought 4 1/2 cups of nuts for $7.49 :O and came home to bake some toffee cookies that didn't need nuts. Darn him anyway, lol!

Waiting on my new Canon, it should be here from Costco tomorrow. I'm afraid I'm going to kill my Rebel dragging it around in my purse. This new one should be a good "everyday-take-it-everywhere" purse.

Waiting on photo paper from Canon, hopefully tomorrow so I can work on my 365 book.

Also waiting for some new hero stamps from Simonsaysstamp I'm hoping they manage to make it tomorrow too.

Hmm, my KennerRoad kit should be here soon too.

Who knows, maybe all of my goodies will make it worth going to work so that I can come home to lots of stuff to open ;)

Hope

Today was just a day full of hope. Out with the old (literally) and in with the new. I am in awe of the day's events. To read the history of Pennsylvania Avenue (latimes article) and see a new history happening there before me was just inspiring. I hope that all those who came before him can rejoice that their efforts were finally rewarded. Here's to renewed hope and inspiration.

A week!

Yep, I decided that there was no reason to come and post everyday if I do the same things: work and home. I guess that's just the way it's going to be until I'm sure I can spend all of my money again. Stupid PUSD has said nothing about plans for us money wise so until I hear something I'm trying my best not to be so spendy, lol! So hard, but I'm going to give it my all.

Jake and I made brownies on Friday after school since I didn't go scrap. George's bday is next Friday so a bunch of us got together for dinner and scrappage on Saturday. I almost finished my CM Good Cheer book, four pages to go! I worked on my 365 book today, got 10 days documented already. I've got to get more printer paper to continue with that. Oh, and Enrique finally washed my truck on Saturday. Getting stuff done, using stuff up, my new motto for '09.

Today

Just another Tuesday:
managed to type up all of the work, tests, etc. for the next two weeks
scared the bejeezus out of Jonathan when I caught him peeking through the window after-school
Jonathan attempted to scare me about 10 minutes later (knocked, hid, and jumped out from around the corner), LOL!
plotting on how to get him back
opened up the 365 kit, put a few cards in the pockets, got intimidated and put it all away
chicken tacos for din-din
watched 90210, listening to Mentalist, waiting for Without a Trace
recording NCIS, Privileged and SVU
thinking of changing around that darn Shimelle project (not turning tv off, but what I watch, :P)

Three days and counting

Well, look at this! I've posted for three straight days :) Today:

  • after posting I started going through stuff-I've filled up a trash bag and a box of recycles already, ugh!
  • Jake came to spend the day-D's sick so he figured he'd enjoy the 'alone' time
  • trying to catch up on soaps-I'm heading into mid-November, lol! At least the election commercials are in the past
  • trying to organize all the kits with ideas to match, working on Poppy right now

How many days in a row does something have to happen before it's a habit? I may be a decent blogger this year.

Update again :)

I can't believe it but here I am again. Yesterday I went to the Oasis so I couldn't update here but here's the rundown of yestersday:
  • got up at zero dark, showered and headed off to Pasadena to view the floats with the 'phews and Pita
  • stopped by Paper Source on Colorado Blvd. while Dom bought a couple of skateboards at the sports shop next door
  • loaded up the truck and headed to the Oasis
  • went to dinner at the Onion
  • returned to the Oasis only to discover I left my basics (tools) at the house
  • made cards and wrote out thank you's for the kids at school
  • stopped by Starbucks and had a signature hot chocolate on the way home

And this morning I woke up and have graded everything that was in my bag from the 19th of December. I even recorded some of the grades. I just need to record math and the big language arts tests and that will be that. Whoo hoo!

Welcome 2009

Well, how's this for a resolution. I'm blogging and it's technically the first for me since I haven't gone to sleep yet.
Today:
Tried, tried to put my scrap stash into some sort of order~it's slow going I tell ya.
Ordered my 365 kit AND took a picture of the stash 'before' and of the bills I paid today
Actually used online bill pay, what have I been waiting for? No stamps, no trip to the post office, duh!
Made a trip to Target, filled the tank with gas, got cash for storage, ate Carl's Jr. for dinner
Planning to visit the floats tomorrow in Pasadena with Pita and the 'phews

Hopefully I'll be back tomorrow :)
