Another week down

Ugh, it seems that school is just dragging yet there is so much to do everyday. I tested CELDT on Monday and Tuesday afternoons, tried to catch up on Wednesday (worked on the new ELD groupings), tested some more on Thursday and Friday as well. I hate testing afterschool. Those tests are so boring to give and after talking all day, the last thing I want to do is more talking. Ugh. Thursday I met up with the parents and the boys at the Fair. Dad was in the parade so I got pix of the '62 in all its glory. On Friday, I managed to leave around 4:30 to come home and get ready for mom's bday dinner. We went to Vince's, yummy as usual. On Saturday I met up with Aimee at the Oasis for some scrappage and lunch at the Little Onion. Yesterday back to school to get stuff ready for this week. Today is over already so I've got 4 work days left and then we can scrap again at the O. Hooray! Plus, J has arranged for us to go to La Quinta again on the 10th-12th, oh yeah! More scrappage is coming my way. Once I get the pix loaded for the month I might even be able to share some creations.

It's Sunday already?!

Not sure where my week went but it flew by:
Monday-got &%$# pissed at our new 'support' staff. 'Nuff said.

Tuesday-got the kids to finish their writing assignments to hang for BtoSN

Wednesday-SMARTboard training. Finished up grading papers, putting up room, came home and fell asleep by 7:30

Thursday-Tried to connect said SMARTboard at lunch. Realized I don't have a projector. Yeah, it was one of the twelve stolen in May before they even got engraved. Hmph. Won't be using that for BtoSN. Only 8 parents showed, none of them matching up to the super low kids. Whatev.

Friday-Out and about with mom

Saturday-On a quest for Mrs. Grossman's bear stickers for Jake. Bears were found, trapped and delivered

Sunday-worked in classroom for a spell, came home, did basically nothing all day. Now I'm loading pix onto smug and getting all my last minute stuff done for work tomorrow. Off to another week.

So tired already

Damn, this first full week of school felt like an eternity! No clue how I'm supposed to deal with this for 171 days more. Thankfully, there are Fridays to look forward to-scrappage, good dinners, time with like-minded friends. Without those Fridays I'd surely be looking for a job at Staters (paper or plastic?). I'm off to school tomorrow for a spell as well. Have to get the room ready for Back to School Night and clean up a bit. I boned out yesterday to scrap and left a disaster on my table. I hate having to work on the weekends but there's not enough time in the day to get stuff done. I napped today and hopefully tomorrow will be a productive day. I'm hoping to go the movies tomorrow but I know that's a long shot. Once I get going at school I'll probably not be able to leave for a good while. So much for an interesting post. Hopefully tomorrow I can post some pix for once.

home at last

Well, tonight was another round of fairdom. We went to see the Monster Trucks (we being the carnal, Pita and the 'phews). Between us a deep fried White Castle Burger, funnel cake, pulled pork sandwich, western style sausage, cheese on a stick, cupcakes and fries were consumed. I sure hope that was it! I'll really have to get pix transfered to the 'puter over the weekend so we can have a replay of the goodness. There was a new monster truck, ROCK STAR, that did backwards wheelies! Very cool indeed. Plus Uncle Joe Benson was there and there were some Navy parachutists who came in during the Star Spangled Banner, being that it was the anniversary of 9/11. There's nothing more American than Monster Trucks, LOL!

Yesterday wasn't the fiasco we all envisioned. We got there after 9, at lunch at 11:30 and were back on the bus by 12:15. We had half an hour to kill when we got back, no one got lost and the whining wasn't as incessant as I thought it would be. Glad it's over, hope not to have to go back next year.

Tomorrow is Little Onion and scrappage at the Oasis. I missed last week so it's about darn time! Looking forward to it LOTS-even if I have to roll by myself :( I'm sure I'll finish tons of pages ;)

catch up Monday

I hate that I don't bother to update everyday but at least it hasn't been a year since I've been back. Nothing much to report, other than last week was long (and it was only four days), the Fair opened on Friday and I met up with the boys and the parents. Let me say here the boys missed school for opening day, ahem. We saw trains, the parade, ate dippin' dots, piggly wigglies, baked potatoes and a cupcake. It was all delish. I head back on Thursday for the Monster Trucks, yahoo!

This weekend was a bust. It seems like I spent all Sunday in the Blazer going to 99 cent stores, Costcos and Targets but I got all the goods I wanted so I guess it was worth it. Today was work and it was there and I'm home still working on a newsletter no one is going to read and trying to decide if I should buy some new stamps from Catslifepress. Yeah, I'll probably do that this week.

Out for now

ebaying fool

Well, I managed to win one of the two auctions dad was watching yesterday and I won the one for today. Go me! This car can almost be done and then we can look at stuff for me on ebay, LOL!

School's school. I've broken down and driven the truck to school two days in a row. So far doing that has meant getting there about 7:00 in order to park it where I can see it but then I'm justifying leaving at 3ish so it's even as far as I'm concerned. I'm sure I'll go back to driving the Geo and getting there with 3o seconds to spare in the morning. In the meantime, it's nice to drive home with a/c. When I got in the truck today the temp said 100 degrees! What?!

I may indulge in a bit of scrappage if I can get myself away from the 'puter in a timely fashion. I can spend so much time procrastinating here in front of the monitor. I really should go have fun with paper, glue and such.

Off to browse a bit and then hopefully have a little me time.

One really down, 179 to go

I amuse myself, ah. There are 179 days of school until summer vacation. Wanna know what killed it? One of my students told me that there were 104 days of vacation that had just passed. A boy after my own heart.

The first real day went well. We got settled in, passed out all of the lovely supplies and books and worked a bit. Don't want to make them not want to come back tomorrow you know. Right now I'm just perusing Peas and waiting for dad's ebay auctions to be up. I hope I can get these pieces he needs so we can stick a fork in the '58 Imp and call her done.

My feet hurt, I'm wearing Converse tomorrow, ha ha. Oh, Gossip Girl rocked last night. Two fave phrases: 'that mother-Chucker' and 'Chuck Bass-tard'. Go Blair! As if that weren't groovy enough, tonight is 90210!! Rock on!

Well, I'm off to get ready for ebaying my little heart out.

Last real day off

Since Wednesday here's what's gone down:

Thursday-Sat through a survivable "Write from the Beginning" training and an excruciating Science one. Found Cheez-It dust in my book bag. Real cute mom.

Friday-Tried to work on a science lesson as a grade level. It took all my will power not to throttle a team member. Not being grade level lead makes it much easier to reign in the impulse. Worked on the room the remainder of the day, boned out at 3:50 and headed to the land of palms and sea breezes. Met up with Aimee (back from the honeymoon) and Georgette at the Onion and scrapped the night away. Good times that.

Saturday-Went to the school to continue with crap I didn't finish Friday. Spent about 4 hours taking out my teacher's editions, hanging up construction backing on the boards, engineering the calendar to work on the back wall. Realized the sink was disgusting. Made plans to return Sunday.

Sunday-Staples, Office Max, Starbucks, school to scrub sink and make nameplates for the desks. Only stayed two hours and came home. It's as good as it's going to get.

Today-Planning on doing some scrappage after I check out the situation in New Orleans on Good Morning America, CNN and MSNBC. I hope things go better this go round than they did during Katrina. Gustav better play a bit nicer. It seems most are a bit more prepared. Other plans: Maybe hit a movie this afternoon? Maybe nap all day? Honestly, I'll be lucky if I shower before 3pm :) Plus I've got to get clothes ironed for tomorrow (the first day is the only day this happens) and a lunch packed.
