For me?

This morning went great! We had a staff meeting at 8:05 and it ended promptly at 9:00 since the kids had to be picked up at 9:05. What a good idea meeting before class, when it's time to end, it's time to end.

I also had two "for me?" moments today. When I walked into the classroom with the kids Gloria came up and gave me two cupcakes (sprinkled with chopped up Fruit Loops). They were totally melted but she was so sweet to bring them to me. Then Jeremy totally made points with me. He brought me a Felix the Cat magnet! He had it tucked into a sandwich baggie all ready to give to me. I can get used to this second grade thing for sure!

Ready or not...

the first day of school arrived. Not much fanfare on my part (or on the new principal's) I did manage to get some of the room cleaned. I didn't even go buy anything new to wear today, hmm. At any rate, even though all of D's crap was still in my way and I had boxes everywhere, we had a relatively good start. Bryan even wrote me a note. "You ar nise." Cute! I'm liking second grade already :)

Two more

So the stitching here isn't the best, but I did complete two other layouts yesterday. The first was a lift from the TwoPeas Garden back in June and the other came out of my head all by itself. I can't believe I dipped so much into the Love, Elsie stuff all in one day, LOL! I am SO a horader, not a USER but I'm trying to get over it. I'm hoping to get more done tonight and tomorrow.

Finished something

I decided that I needed to start and complete at least one project today. I can't believe I followed through. Here's my Scrapjacked layout (a lift of the fab "Today" layout Kristina Contes did). Here's my take on her work:

I actually used a bit of my Love, Elsie stash. Go me! Off to see if I can accomplish something else today.

The end is near

The end of CELDT that is ;). Tuesday should be it for us and then we can enjoy a few weeks of actual vacation before school starts again. I am looking forward to not having to be anywhere for a while: I envision sleeping, sleeping, lounging in my PJs most of the day and playing with paper and glue.

I've done two SU! parties this month. It's so rocking when what I envision in my head actually comes out on paper. I love, love the new stuff we got this catalog. The scallop punch is to die for. Must post pix of the projects when I get them scanned.

Also, most importantly, yesterday was a good day at the swapmeet. There was much trim and ribbon to be had, I'm off to Target to buy a new bin for my "must-have" purchases.

Happy 4th

Well, it's been a while since I've visited you, poor blog. Here's the dirt:

First off, Happy Fourth of July. I am so full! We scaled down the menu this year and only made hot dogs but for some reason it still seemed like we washed dishes forever, LOL! Jake and Dom wanted dirt cups and this year they were huge. I only ate half of mine, sooo good, except for the nasty gummy worms. They took off to George's house to watch the fireworks at Pomona College.

So looking forward to next week, I ordered a ton of new SU! stuff and I'm hoping my order goes out tomorrow or Friday. I've got to get ready for D's party on the 14th. I can't wait to get all of the new stuff in my little hands.

Diana and I have gotten through two days of CELDTing without too many probs. Most of all the parents are just rude about having to come in but that's not my fault. Try not bragging and be honest that your kid really only speaks English and you won't have to come in. We do have to figure out how to get out of there before 5:30 though. Going to work on that tomorrow.

On tap for the weekend: print pix, get ready to tackle my box of SU! goodies, order Poppy on Friday night. Wow, nothing that exciting. It's too hot to do much else right now. Hopefully we'll have something new projects to actually post next week.

Over?!

The school year is over but not really. Diana and I wound up doing the CELDT testing for CC and it sucked ass trying to get everything scheduled in four, count them four, days all the while trying to do the rest of the end of the year crap. My kids wound up with a sub yesterday and I spoke to them for all of 55 minutes today-the rest of the time they watched movies. Poor things, but the way they've behaved this year, they really didn't deserve more than that.

Now that the CELDT is scheduled, I can finish up the stuff I had left to do like copy plan and grade books, clean room, box up crap, throw crap away, organize for next year, etc. All by 1:45 pm tomorrow which is my check out time. Yeah, not going to happen...

Good times

Got back a while ago from the retirement party we had for Jane, Linda, Maxine and Norma. To quote Napoleon Dynamite, "LUCKY!" So happy for them, and a tad bit jealous too, LOL!

I go pick up the truck tomorrow. So glad about that because Tim Holtz's class is Sunday and I may need my wheels to get there.

Last night Lupita and I went to the Oasis for Jamie Waters' class. We had the best time, Lupita even won something in the drawing that brat! Anyway, an order of CatsLifePress stamps showed up and I was in heaven. Yep, 'one of each please' and they were mine. I'm hoping to find time to play tomorrow or Saturday (after I catch up my plan book).

Well, the report cards were done this morning, I finished the last of the comments while we watched an A&E movie about California Dreamers. It held the attention of the class for a while, at least long enough to let me do my thing. Done!

Just bummed that my Poppy stuff wasn't here to greet me when I got home. Maybe tomorrow. I can only hope.

Hoorah!

Almost done with the report cards (so they're late, hey, it's not my fault I was away for two days last week, no?). got a fab-o order from SU! today-2 new hostess sets, a couple of new sets, all of the new colors of ink/cardstock. Plus I got my hair did and we had Rocky's Pizza for din-din. Oh and the checkbook is balanced and all the bills are paid for the month :) Off to work on the report cards (hopefully to actually finish tonight).

One week down, two to go

Well, finally, after much dread and stress the week is over. My trainings went really well, thank goodness I only had to get to Fullerton in the am and not Newport Beach. I even got in some scrap time last night. So much to be said for having photos that go with the supplies you're toting around town. :)

And even more to cross out

Hooray! Open House is officially over! So glad that I can say that now. I hate, hate Open House because usually it's a lot of prep and pushing the kids to get stuff ready and then not even half of the parents come. Not tonight. I had 25 of 30 students show up with their parents. I have to say that that's a record. I feel kind of bad that we didn't do more, but hey, how was I supposed to know?

The training went great today too. We met at a house/office set up that Christina has. I managed to get there a half hour early so I stopped at Starbucks for a Chai and headed on over. We finished with our session a bit after 2 pm so I was back here about 2:40. I had time to stop by the Credit Union to make a deposit and then hung out at the house until about 4:00. Then off to school to set up Jim for tomorrow and then at 5:30 it was on. NO ONE came into the room until about 5:50~I have to admit, I was getting pissed! Then I wasn't alone until about 6:45 when they rang the bells. A second grade mom came in to see the missions and I didn't have the heart to tell her to go, LOL!

Well, that's officially done. The list is shortening by the day. This weekend I'm off to work on report cards and to finish up the SST paperwork for the Monday meeting at 3, then to call parents about the Awards assembly on Tuesday. I didn't have the energy to stay after Open House and choose the awards. It'll wait until Saturday or Sunday.

Crossing things off!

Yeah, two more things off the major to do list. I managed to attend both the SSC and ELD cohort meetings this evening. Even made a stop at Staples and Starbucks, plus a trip to Target to get mom the new McCartney CD. Go me. Just tomorrow~plans, Open House prep, Staff meeting, report card beginnings...

Slowly but surely

Well, thankfully, a few things can come off the list of to-do's.

I got through the parent visit on Friday, they came in right after I did my modeling on writing the first paragraph of the mission reports, just came in to see me walking around making sure everyone was getting started. G's mom came to the door first, was skeptical when I sent her to find Anna and the rest of the group. Ugh, so glad I won't have to see that woman anymore in a few days.

Kristin's party went great. We had planned for a lot of people so I kept everything pretty simple, we got through it all quickly. I was able to head to the Oasis for a fix and then stopped by the Onion for dinner for Enrique and I since mom and dad were still at the car show on Euclid.

Worked on my green folders yesterday at school for about 3 hours. Got them done, hung up the same assignment on the bulletin boards for Open House. With the "truthful ads" we did for health, the walls are officially half way done.

Managed to get to the CELDT training alive. Driving through Pomona is quite the adventure these days, managed to live to tell about it. Ran a few errands. Going to grade a few tests to input grades tomorrow during the DWA test. Gotta love free time for me during those horrible exams.

Oh, and the best news I got all day. The training Thursday/Friday is no longer in Newport, it's just down the road a ways in Fullerton. I'll hopefully be able to get there in time if I leave the house about 7 am. We'll have to see. Also, getting to Open House on time should be doable as well-hopefully 2 1/2 hours is enough time to travel a normally 20 minute trip, ugh.

Out for now. Hopefully coming back to erase more of my to-dos.

Oh happy day!

Well, today was a pretty decent day all around. That's not even likely on a day that I had to go to work but I'm managing to find my joys wherever I can get them:

1. My MAC Barbie came in today, the boy in brown dropped it off for me. She's absolutely gorgeous, love her "make-up" and the MAC train case she's carrying.

2. Managed to get the truck to Mark Christopher so it can finally get an oil change tomorrow. It was so much easier to drop it off after work rather than take it all the way over there before work in the am. So glad to get that off my list.

3. 2Peas got in the Love, Elsie line. I've been stalking every online scrapbook store and the blog at Oasis all week for some of that. I ordered a bit at work (probably a no-no but it was a scrapbook emergency) then I ordered a bit more just now. Hopefully by Tuesday I should have some here in my possession. Now to find time to play...

4. Found a groovy Chanel lipgloss today. (I know, I know I'm a MAC addict, but I just couldn't resist this Chanel goodness. So going to wear it tomorrow.

5. I managed to type up the school calendar, boring I know, but it's done. Just a couple of changes here and there and Anna will be all set.

6. Had a good laugh in Anna's office while working on aforementioned calendar. Anna came across a Playboy mag while cleaning out here cabinets, LOL! Wonder who stashed it in there?

Well, that's all the happiness I managed to remember for today. Hopefully, this is not it until the end of the school year.

Here's a quick update. I did in fact manage to move everything to the new storage. Dad and I went and took the locks off the original units on Sunday the 6th of May. All done!

Went to Oasis for NSD. I actually completed a few of the projects/pages they gave us. None posted anywhere, that would involve scanning or picture downloading, I do not have the energy for that now.

Only two more School Site Council meetings, one newsletter, Open House, and report cards to go. Go me! It's almost over :)

Sunday, April 29, 2007

Soreness!

Well, nothing much to report except for the fact that I am sore. Dad passed through the storage unit on Thursday and noticed an overlock on my unit as he passed by. He went to check on it and the clerk would give no info, so I went after school to check. Sure enough, locked out of my own, paid for unit. Went in to check, little girl gets attitude and asks for the unit number like, "dumb ass, you haven't paid", when she sees that it is in fact current she tries to blame it on a "new employee". Yeah, so I'm paying for my unit and locked out of it, the person getting the letters who should be locked out has free access and I'm supposed to assume my belongings are not eventually going to be on the auctioning block since obviously any correspondence is not getting to me regarding the (other unit) being overdue?! She gets snippy so 10 days notice are delivered on the spot. We went up the street and got a steal of a deal on a 10x30 unitl (5 months half off) and regular rent for less that the units we're paying for now.

So Friday I head to the other storage to give my 10 days notice there since now I can put everything in one unit and the hood rat is there, still giving attitude. Whatever. So yesterday Dad and I get there to get stuff out and start moving it to the new unit and the manager has locked us out of that unit because apparently I was the rude one! We finally got in there and emptied out half of it, half of the first unit and called it a day.

Today, we went and finished up with the second unit where the drana occured yesterday. Not going to remove the lock until the 7th since it's paid for until then, but it's empty. Now on to the big items and dad's unit where Miss Customer Service works and then we're done. In the meantime, I'm sore, sore and sore. Apparently moving everything out of a 10x12 unit in two days is a little hard on the body. Who knew?

Thursday, April 19, 2007

Well, I'm just about ready to go. I've got the projects ready for K's party and I'm packing up for my class at the Oasis tomorrow. Having a hard time getting that together since I have stuff everywhere and yet, nowhere where it can be found. Must work on organizing the memorabilia and such. So not having a good time digging around for things.

Lucky day today. Heard yesterday we were getting observed today by a team from downtown. Got a call that they had to leave since someone's husband was admitted to the hospital. Kids were going, "YES!" when I told them. Yes, so joyful someone was sick which meant no visit today, LOL. Hey, we take what joy we can get.

One more day and then I'm off for two! I am sooo hoping to get picked for Jury Duty on Tuesday. Yes, I'm still hoping for a long trial just to get away from work for a few days.

Wednesday, April 18, 2007

Good eats, other stuff

Well, not quite finished with the prep but I figured I'd procastinate a bit:

Just got home from the boys' Open House. They go to a cute little school in Ontario. I really like going to see what other people are doing since I never seem to leave my cave.

We ate dinner at Paulie's. I am so going to have to go back. I had baked Masticcioli (sp?) and it was really good. Next time I'm getting pizza! Mom and Pita were in a big rush to go home, they have novelas to watch. They so need to record their stories so they can watch them whenever like I do :)

Two more days this week, a Monday and then jury duty! How sad is it that I actually am hoping to go? A bad day at jury duty is better than a good day at work, LOL!

Off to check on my SU! order and then finish up prep for K's party.

Tuesday, April 17, 2007

Almost done

Well, tonight I should be about finished with prep for Kristin's SU! party. I worked on the projects on Sunday, cutting up the cardstock and the rest of the prep is what's left for today. So much to do, trying to get it done today so that I can get ready for my class at Oasis on Friday tomorrow night. I've got to find pix, memorabilia, etc. in the midst of my "organization".

I did manage to organize my M's $ stamps last night. I stuck them into baseball card holder sleeves and put 'em into a notebook. So good to have them in one, safe place all ready to go. Now if organizing the rest of my stash would be so simple. I guess I'll just have to organize in bits, not all at once.

Poppy Ink arrived yesterday too! Lots of good stuff-was totally bad and got all of the add-ons this month so I got two boxes of Poppy love yesterday. Lots of new stamps, papers and embellies. So loving this kit. I'm totally glad I have a subscription.

Well, if I can get the prep done, I'll come back and post the goodies that'll be done at the workshop on Saturday. I'm pretty pleased with some of the projects.

Thursday, April 5, 2007

Well, this is not working

Okay, so it's not going to be a daily thing, not a bi-weekly thing, hell, not even a bi-monthly thing from the looks of it. I think blogging daily is not going to happen, will shoot for once a week and see how it goes. I'm not good with hard-core deadlines. Once I miss a day all is lost and I miss 20 more.

The dirt: Seem to buying lots, scrapping little. I'm so hoping to remedy the situation next week when I'm on break. I envision getting up, scrapping and taking a nap or two, then getting up and scrapping again. I'm so hoping to have some sort of scrappage/stampage to share by this time next week.

I did complete one layout last night when I cropped at the Oasis with Echo and Steph. So proud as I have just been getting pix and papers glued down and leaving the journaling and embellies for a later date. Good times=Wednesday at the Oasis. Cropping there also includes dinner at the Little Onion followed by a Starbucks at some point which makes me one happy girl. Just wish I could miss work the following day. Nevertheless, it was good catching up and hanging out for a while. Will have to post the finished product after I get it scanned/stitched. So not happening tonight.

Yikes!

Well, it's been forever, hasn't it, my little neglected blog? So sorry. Just haven't really had anything interesting to report. Work is work, right now in the throes of report card procrastination. Stampin' Up! sent me my little SAB rewards-I chose two alphas, mod and well-worn. This was the most successful SAB period I've had so far. I took Emily's class at Oasis Friday night but haven't done much with the pages since I put them between stuff to flatten them out. We also hit the convention on Saturday, March 10th. Got a few goodies at Stampers Anonymous and StudioBlackbird. It was a weak show so I was especially good, no Savvy or Paula Best to tempt me. We did see a few new things this go 'round YanKiwi and CherryPieArt had some cute things. Going to look for them in the future. I also managed to back up a lot of pix on the 'puter in case of crash. I lost everything before and that was before pix were actually on the computer so now I want to be prepared. Other than that, nothing else to report. If I think of something, I'll be back!

Tuesday, February 20, 2007

Well, it's been a while so it's time for an update.

The EXPO was great, since we went on Friday there weren't any long lines like usual. I got some of the new Basic Grey sets with cardstock to match (I split the packs with Pita) so we did good. Then over to Technique Tuesday for some new stamps. Love their stuff, can't wait for Serendipity to show up somewhere. I got 5 new sets and gave the freebie to Pita. I got a few more accordion books from Rusty Pickle and some goodies at 7gypsies. Then we went to Oasis to shop a bit and got lunch at the Little Onion. It was a great day.

Saturday I did Kristin's SU! workshop (she had the best party she's ever had, $750 good)! Then I went to the crop at Oasis until about 1:30 in the morning. I work some new eyeshadow, B-Rich, which totally irritated my eyes. They got puffy and ugly about 5 pm but I stuck it out. Like I told Echo, "They'll still be puffy if I go home." Echo killed it, she had a handful of M&Ms in her hand and started to ask, "Does your dad still drink," long pause while she shoves M&Ms in her mouth and then "Chais?" OMG, we couldn't stop laughing. After she said it it hit her too. I worked on lots of stuff that neede attention-gessoing the cards for Emily's challenge, decorating my new messenger bag, lifting a few layouts that now need journaling and embellies. It was a great time even though my eye felt horrible.

Sunday I spent the whole day sleeping off my scrapbooking hangover and then yesterday did a few errands. Today after work I went to Staples (they had new post-its that were to die for) and Target for more 12x12 bins. I got some new stamps from Poppy today too. I even bought a couple for Pita. Tomorrow is a staff meeting so I'll run the last checks from Kristin over to the credit union and push send on her order, then get my stuff together for Amber's class on Poppy Thursday evening. That about covers it for now. Hopefully I'll not let another week go by before I come update again.

Wednesday, February 14, 2007

oops

Forgot to add that today was a great mail day, got my Poppy Ink stuff, still oggling it, will take to crop on Saturday...

Valentine's Day

Well, the boys came over today and had gifts and cards for everyone. Jacob even made one for Spooky that said "Spoke" on the 'lope. He's so thoughtful with his furry cousin, LOL!

Mom decided that we needed to eat red food so enchiladas and red velvet cake for desert were on the menu. The boys decided that we needed to put candles on the cake and sing "Happy Birthday". Dominic piped in with "Happy birthday, Lord of Love, happy birthday to you when we got to that part of the song. Too funny!

Tomorrow is a day of meeting at Pueblo and/or Montvue and Roosevelt. So cannot wait to end the day (which also involves a SSC meeting) because then I can think about the EXPO :)

Tuesday, February 13, 2007

Short Week :)

Well, I spent the long weekend rearranging my scrap stuff. I bought a shelf at Target and loaded it up with all of my SU! stamps, then I went to work sorting mags and the like, some went to the new shed, the rest (kits) will stay inside.

On the work front this week looks like this:
Monday-off, holiday
Tuesday-got through it even though it rained a bit
Wednesday-my favorite day, VAPA time means I don't deal with the class until 10:00 and they get out early to boot
Thursday-I'm off for a training, but back to campus for SSC meeting (bummer)
Friday-personal day to go to the expo in OC

Saturday is K's SU! workshop so I'm off to make samples, pack kits, etc.

Wednesday, February 7, 2007

Time to catch up

Well, it's been a few days since I last posted. Here's what's up:

Friday was my birthday, not saying how old, but it wasn't the best day. I think I deserve a do-over because I wasn't able to get a sub and I felt really sick. Rather than having to have them split up my class I went to work and wound up being sick the whole weekend. I did manage to get Jim to sub for me on Monday so I rested up a bit. I was feeling better this morning and then the unthinkable happened...

One of the girls in my class came back from recess late with a note from the health office saying that she had no fever, therefore, get thee back to class. About five minutes later, from across the room, I hear her vomitting. I could just envision a vomit fest similar to the one in the movie "Stand by Me" so I ordered everyone out. They hesitated but finally got up and out. She washed her hands in the restroom while I filled out the nurse card for her and called for Jack. We wound up playing kickball for about 40 minutes then Christina Saucedo lent me her little office space so we grabbed our books and stayed in there until lunch. I could swear the germs were invading my body as I worked this afternoon but so far no vomitting from me, knock on wood.

I'm expecting happiness in a box tomorrow from SU! I just love being able to pre-order even though I wind up not using things for months it seems. Just thinking about having new stamps tomorrow is making going to work seem worth it. Hopefully this weekend I can get myself organized and get Kristin's workshop ready for the 17th.

Monday, January 29, 2007

Excuse me while I see if I can include a picture or two here...
Go me! I actually did it. Yahoo!
Let me introduce my fur baby, Spooky. He usually doesn't look high, he just gets tired of me sticking my camera in his face, LOL!

Errands, errands, errands

So today I managed to run errands all over town. I went to Escape and got the last picture that I needed for the project that I started in Jenni's class. Then I went to Costco, Target, Stater Bros., Michael's and CM school supply. I can't believe I got all of that done today. Sad thing is, there was only one of the salads that I buy worth bringing home, the rest were already looking rusty so I have to go back tomorrow and see if there are any nicer looking ones. Other than that, things are just going. Progress reports are due on Friday so of course I will be taking the WHOLE week to think about doing them and then whip them out in about half an hour. Funny how that works out but I have my methods. I'm hoping to scrap a bit tomorrow if I make it home early enough.

Weekend recap

I had the best time this weekend at the Oasis. The weekend actually started on Thursday night~Kristina's Right Now class rocked! We made the cutest little books, loved the paint, and transparencies. The whole thing looks great. I wound up finishing it up at the crop on Friday night. I just have to add the journaling and stamp a little and it'll be all done. So cute and fun. The crop itself was a blast as well. Kristina gave us some rubba she had made from Purple Onion. Too cool!

Last night was my class with Jenni Bowlin, we used some of her papers and die cut houses. Too fun. I almost got it completed. I just have to do the journaling on that one and take one more picture. I wanted to take one of Escape salon but by the time I got out of there it was dark. Going to drive up this week and do that so it'll be finished.

Dad and I finished putting together a new shed. Totally looking forward to having a place to store some of my excess scapping stuff. I think I want to get one of those rubbermaid cabinets so it'll be even further protected.

Class prep

Yesterday I spent the evening taking photos of "me right now" things for a class tomorrow at Oasis. I got my hair cut and colored and figured it would be a good day to shoot some self portraits as well.

Today I managed to get to Nordie's to use the gc my friend Claudia gave me for Christmas. I wound up getting a new eyeshadow quad from MAC~the Raquel Welch collection is out :) Now I've got to finish getting my supplies together so I can rush to the house tomorrow, grab it all, toss it in the truck and get down to OC in time for class. I sooo wish I didn't have to go to work tomorrow. Ugh. And it's a meeting day at that so class will be the only thing I have to look forward to all blasted day. I'm so jazzed to be taking Kristina's class.

Saturday, January 20, 2007

Well, let's see how long I can keep interest in a new project. My track record is pretty bad as far as follow through goes, but I'm game. Why?~Because I want to have a place to keep track of the day to day in my life.
